Recommended Browser Add-ons
Add-ons may need to be installed if your browser is not already configured:
A PDF Reader - PDF reader should be installed on your computer, and a PDF browser plugin will let you view PDFs in a browser window without opening a separate program.
Download Adobe Acrobat Reader at http://get.adobe.com/reader/
Apple Quicktime - Apple Quicktime provides easy access to multiple audio and video formats your instructors may post. Macintosh computers come with Quicktime already installed. Windows users should also install Quicktime.
Download Quicktime at http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
Java - Java may need to be installed and enabled in your browser for features used by some Moodle courses. You will see a warning if you need to install or upgrade Java. Recommendation is the latest version of Sun JRE 6.
Download JRE at http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
Adobe Flash Player -The Adobe Flash Player plugin for your browser will allow you to access Flash video and rich interactive media.
Download Adobe Flash Player http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
According to Moodle's site:
“The operating system is not important, but you may need software to read files that you upload (e.g. if you upload Microsoft Word files then all your users need software to read Word files).”
Use a reliable internet connection at all times. If you are accessing the Internet using a wireless connection (Wi-Fi), be sure you have a strong signal before attempting a quiz. If the signal is weak or there is a brief interruption of service during a quiz, you may be unable to submit a quiz. Wireless Internet is not always as reliable as a wired connection, because it can be affected by interference from other devices.
